" Your Trusted Partner for Rugged Biometric Computers".
mobID is a small team of talented people jointly based in Northern Virginia. The team has worked diligently to develop a 100% "Made in America" product that incorporates in excess of 90% US made parts. US production is aimed at reducing the risk to the DoD or DHS agencies from the potential treat of "Trojan horses" which is increasingly becoming an issue for the authorities. As these newer devices are deployed on the network the mobID HBC reduces the risk to the user agency.
mobID is reversing the trend that has seen many well established hardware vendors move their production to Asia. Many of those companies are in the process of moving their production back to the US. mobIDs efforts are also targeted at producing more US based jobs and utilizing a very talented hardware/software engineering pool who have increasingly seen their jobs transferred overseas.
DoD has in recent months begun to look for more home grown technologies that meet or exceed their published requirements. In developing its family of biometric products mobID is consistently targeting investment dollars to ensure that customers can invest in the mobID HBC product range with confidence.
The mobID HBC product range will provide DoD and DHS agencies with the full range of biometric capabilities along with NIST and FBI compliance in both capture and matching procedures. mobID also believes that its adoption of encryption algorithms will provide customers with an unequalled level of protection.
The mobID HBC (Handheld Biometric Computer)
The mobID HBC is a US designed and built handheld biometric computer. The unit combines for the first time multiple features that distinguish the mobID HBC from any of its competitors. The unit has been equipped with the Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor to provide either an XPe or Linux operation platform. In the field of multimodal biometric mobID has surpassed the industry with the following biometric capability.
- 500 dpi optical fingerprint , single and 10 print , scanners meeting FBI/PIV Resolution Standards
- 2D facial recognition which meets NIST/ISO Resolution Standards (EBT compliant)
- Iris recognition with unique "Extended Depth of Field" capability
- Voice recognition, speech recognition and real-time voice translation
